Joanne has spent the last twenty years working with seniors in adult day care and long term care facilities, as well as with the developmentally disabled in day programs and group homes. Joanne believes that eating healthfully and being physically active are important goals for all of us.

MASSAGE - Fauzia Osman, Certified Massage Therapist

My first encounter with Marin Ventures came in 1997 when I worked with some clients that came to my massage school's clinic. After graduating with my CMT, I volunteered in the Occupational Therapy department at Marin Ventures and joined the staff later that year.

Because the clients’ needs are so varied and how they present themselves is also in constant flux, no two days are the same and it makes the work very gratifying. Through positioning and using different tools and aids, we are able to accommodate our clients and provide them a comfortable respite where they can stretch, flex, exercise, relax, and at the same time become stronger and more balanced. We use traditional massage techniques, as well as vibration, music, sound therapy, sensorial stimulation and integration.

NURSE - Theresa “Terry” Nevin, RN MPA

For 23 years, Terry was the “part time” nurse for Casa Allegra Community Services, a Marin County residential provider serving 20 persons with developmental disabilities. She now is supervising the health care needs of the Marin Ventures clients, as well as providing ongoing training to staff.

After obtaining her RN at the College of Marin Nursing School, Terry received a BA in Public Health from Saint Mary’s College and a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of San Francisco. As a member of the Marin Breast Cancer Committee, Terry has been a support person for women undergoing mastectomies and reconstruction. Since 1998 Terry has participated in Operation Rainbow Medical Missions to Guatemala and Peru, working as the Recovery Room RN for orthopedic cases.

Terry lives in Mill Valley with her husband Jim, who is an estate planning attorney in San Rafael. Terry and Jim have 3 grown children and three grandchildren all living in the area.
