Marin Ventures is an agency that provides vocational and independent living skills training to adults with developmental disabilities What is a developmental disability? As defined by the state of California: a developmental disability is a diagnosed condition of mental retardation, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism or a disabilities with symptoms resembling mental retardation. How do I become eligible for services provided by Marin Ventures? Eligibility is determined by the Golden Gate Regional Center: (415) 945-1600. Also, you must be at least 22 years old and live in Marin County. If this criteria is met, than you are more than likely eligible. Please contact Program Director Jami Davis for more information: (415) 472-4961 Ext. 102. Is there a fee for services provided? No. Marin Ventures receives its funding through daily fees paid by the Golden Gate Regional Center. Its services are enhanced through a contract with the Tamalpais Union School District. How would I get to Marin Ventures? If you are eligible for regional center services, the regional center will obtain transportation to and from Marin Ventures. Why should I choose Marin Ventures Day Program? Marin Ventures provides an experienced staff with many credentialed instructors and a variety of services such as job training, volunteering opportunities, occupational therapy, exercise classes, swimming, art, music and horticultural classes. Furthermore, Marin Ventures is one of the only day programs in Marin that provides specialized services to developmentally disabled seniors. This new program, in addition to Marin Ventures already existing community based program (ACE) and on-site program (ALC), makes Marin Ventures a truly versatile and unique day program.
